Crowd in Pakistan breaks through wall of US consulate, deaths reported

Protests in Pakistan and Iraq following US-Israeli attacks on Iran have turned violent. In Karachi, Pakistan, a crowd broke through the outer wall of the US consulate, prompting security forces to open fire.

At least nine protesters were killed and another 34 were injured, all of them with gunshot wounds, according to hospital reports. Demonstrators chanted anti-Israeli and anti-American slogans and set fire to a vehicle in front of the compound.

The unrest spread to other cities, including Lahore and Islamabad, where police used tear gas. In the northern city of Skardu, demonstrators set fire to a UN building.

In Iraq, security forces dispersed hundreds of protesters in Baghdad's Green Zone. Pakistani authorities have ordered an investigation into the incident, while Western diplomatic missions have tightened security measures.
