Wadephul: Without an end to nuclear armament, there will be no solution

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul stated that Iran must abandon its nuclear weapons program if an acceptable solution to the current crisis is to be found. According to him, there is a common interest in stabilizing the situation, but this will not be possible without a clear rejection of Tehran's nuclear ambitions.

At the same time, warnings were issued about possible retaliatory measures by Iran following the US and Israeli attacks that killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Marc Henrichmann, head of the parliamentary committee for the control of secret services, admitted that the activities of Iranian "sleeper cells" in Europe cannot be ruled out. Germany is therefore considering adjusting its security measures.

Meanwhile, Lufthansa has suspended flights to several cities in the Middle East and announced the closure of airspace in part of the region.
