UN agency: no sign Iran nuclear sites were hit
According to its Director General Rafael Grossi, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has no indication that Israeli and American attacks on Iran have affected any of Iran's nuclear facilities. Grossi made the statement on Monday at a meeting of the agency's 35-member Board of Governors.
However, he added that the IAEA has not yet been able to establish contact with the Iranian nuclear regulatory authorities and that efforts to establish contact are continuing without response.
Iran's ambassador to the UN nuclear watchdog, Reza Najafi, said at the same meeting that the large nuclear facility in Natanz had been hit during US and Israeli military operations. According to him, the attacks targeted peaceful and protected nuclear facilities.
When asked by Reuters which facilities had been hit, he replied: "Natanz."
