Medvedev: Third World War depends on Trump

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has said that the Third World War has not formally begun, but could break out ‘at any moment’ if US President Donald Trump continues what he called ‘criminal regime change’.

In an interview with TASS, he warned that almost any event could trigger a global conflict. His comments come amid mounting tension in the Middle East.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has called for an immediate end to the fighting in the region and stressed the need to protect civilians and infrastructure.

Moscow has sharply criticised the US approach while at the same time urging an end to hostilities.
