US rejects allegations it deliberately attacked a school in Iran

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio rejected claims that the United States deliberately attacked a school in Iran, where, according to Iranian state media, more than 160 people were reportedly killed.

The incident occurred in the southern city of Minab on the first day of extensive US and Israeli strikes. Rubio stressed that, if the operation had been carried out by US forces, the Department of Defense would investigate it, but he said the United States does not deliberately target civilians.

The Pentagon has not yet responded to questions, while Central Command said it is reviewing reports of possible civilian casualties. The incident was condemned by UNESCO and Nobel Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai.

Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, suggested that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps may also bear responsibility. Reuters said the information could not be independently verified.
