Clinton admits flights with Epstein but denies misconduct

Former US President Bill Clinton said he knew Jeffrey Epstein as a donor to his AIDS foundation and had used his aircraft for several trips abroad. He denied any inappropriate contact and said he had never visited Epstein’s island. Hillary Clinton also testified before the committee, saying she does not remember meeting Epstein.

Bill Clinton testified under oath before the House Oversight Committee that Donald Trump mentioned Epstein during a golf tournament in 2002 or 2003.

‘He said we had a great time together, but we parted ways because of a real estate deal,’ Clinton quoted Trump as saying. He added that he did not gain the impression from the exchange that Trump had been involved in any unlawful activity.

Both men had been linked to Epstein before the financier pleaded guilty in 2008 to soliciting prostitution from a minor. They repeatedly stated that they had seen no evidence of sex trafficking, and authorities did not bring charges against either of them.

Epstein was re-arrested in 2019 on federal charges of sex trafficking of minors and later died in prison. His death was ruled a suicide.
