White House confirms preventive treatment for Trump’s neck rash
According to his doctor, US President Donald Trump is undergoing preventive treatment for a red rash on his neck. However, the White House has refused to provide further details about his health.
In photographs from Monday’s Medal of Honor ceremony, a red, blotchy rash was visible on the right side of Trump’s neck above his collar. White House physician Sean Barbabella said the president is using a common cream as a preventive skin treatment.
The redness could persist for several more weeks. White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told reporters she had no further information beyond the details released by the doctor.
The 79-year-old president’s health has often attracted attention during his second term. In the past, he has appeared with bruises on his hands and swelling in his feet.
In January, Trump explained the bruise on his hand by frequent use of aspirin. The White House also said he had hit his hand on a table during a trip abroad. Last year, doctors also reported swelling in his ankles. An ultrasound revealed chronic venous insufficiency, a common and benign condition, especially in people over the age of 70.
After taking office for his second term, Trump became the oldest US president at the time of his inauguration.
