WHO confirms 13 attacks on health facilities in Iran

‘An estimated 100,000 people have left Iran and more than 60,000 people have been displaced in Lebanon,’ said World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus at a press conference on the US–Israeli military campaign in Iran.

According to Iranian authorities, four ambulances in Iran were also hit and hospitals and other health facilities suffered minor damage from attacks in their vicinity. A hospital in Tehran had to be evacuated.

‘To date, we have verified 13 attacks on health facilities in Iran, resulting in three deaths and no injuries. In Lebanon, we have verified three attacks, resulting in three deaths and six injuries,’ a WHO spokesperson told Reuters.

The WHO logistics centre in Dubai, which supplies medical supplies to dozens of countries, is temporarily out of operation because of transport restrictions in the region.
