Brussels seeks way to resume supplies via Druzhba

The European Commission is examining ways to support the resumption of oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline, including possible financial assistance, its spokesman said on Friday.

‘I can confirm that the Commission is exploring options to support the resumption of oil supplies, including possible financial support,’ the EU spokesman said at a regular daily briefing. He did not provide further details.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is scheduled to meet Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and the Druzhba pipeline will be one of the topics of discussion, the spokesman added. However, it is not yet clear when the meeting will take place.
