Iran warns protesters: police ‘fingers on the trigger’
Iranian police have warned citizens against possible anti-government protests during the war with the United States and Israel, Deutsche Welle (DW) reported.
Police Chief Ahmadreza Radan said on state television that security forces would treat demonstrators as enemies rather than protesters. According to him, security forces have their ‘fingers on the trigger’.
US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously called on Iranians to rise up against the ayatollahs’ government. In several posts on the social network X, Netanyahu described the current conflict as a historic opportunity to get rid of the regime and gain freedom.
Iran has recent experience with mass protests. At the turn of 2025 and 2026, the country was hit by a wave of anti-government demonstrations, which the regime suppressed with violence. According to available information, security forces killed tens of thousands of protesters at that time.
