Netanyahu warns leaders of Iran and Hezbollah

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hinted on Thursday at the possibility of attacks on the top leadership of Iran and Hezbollah. He said this at his first press conference since the start of the war between Israel, the United States and Iran.

According to him, after nearly two weeks of US–Israeli air strikes, Iran ‘is no longer the same’, and Tehran has suffered serious losses in the ranks of the Revolutionary Guards and the Basij paramilitary forces.

When asked by journalists whether Israel could take action against Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, or the leader of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, Naim Qassem, Netanyahu replied that he would ‘not take out life insurance on any of the leaders of terrorist organisations’.

At the same time, he refused to specify further steps by the Israeli army: ‘I do not intend to give a precise message here about what we are planning or what we will do.’ According to him, Iran and Hezbollah no longer pose as much of a threat as they did before the conflict began.

Netanyahu confirmed that he is in regular contact with US President Donald Trump. According to him, they speak daily and their conversations are open.
