Trump signals possible allied naval mission in Strait of Hormuz

US President Donald Trump announced that several countries could send warships to the Strait of Hormuz to ensure it remains open to international shipping.

According to the White House chief, the United States could be joined by countries that would be most affected by a potential closure of this strategic maritime route.

In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, he mentioned China, France, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom as examples. However, he has not yet provided specific confirmation regarding the deployment of ships.

Trump also emphasised that US forces are already taking military action in the region. According to his statement, the United States is striking targets along the coast and intercepting Iranian ships that could threaten security in the strait.
