Israel rejects reports of air defence ammunition shortage

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said on Sunday that the government does not plan to hold direct talks with Lebanon in the coming days. He also denied reports that Israel is running out of resources to intercept rockets.

The Israeli daily Haaretz reported on Saturday that Israel and Lebanon were expected to hold direct talks in the coming days. According to sources cited by the Semafor news site, Israel was also said to have informed Washington that it was critically running out of resources to intercept ballistic missiles.

When asked about the two reports, Saar replied: ‘The answer to both questions is no.’
