X meets EU conditions as fine dispute continues

Elon Musk’s company X has met a deadline set by the European Union to pay a €120 million fine or provide a financial guarantee, Politico reported.

The development was confirmed by European Commission spokesman Thomas Regnier, who added that the company has also taken the required corrective measures regarding the blue badge system. The badge system was one of the reasons why the Commission ruled in December that rules under the Digital Services Act had been infringed.

Despite complying with the obligations, X continues to pursue its legal challenge and is appealing the decision at the CJEU. The company has not commented on the latest developments.
