March for Life in Lisbon targeted with petrol bomb

On 21 March, an unidentified man attacked a ‘March for Life’ event in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon. According to Idea Magazin, he threw an improvised Molotov cocktail into the crowd. The device did not explode, although flammable material struck several participants.

Police later detained a 39-year-old suspect who is reportedly linked to an anarchist group. Despite the incident, no one was injured.

The ‘March for Life’ is a regular event opposing abortion and euthanasia. Organisers said around 4,000 people took part in Lisbon.
