FT: Russia prepares drone deliveries to Iran

Russia is close to completing deliveries of drones, medicine and food to Iran, according to Western intelligence services, the Financial Times reports.

Moscow and Tehran are said to have begun talks shortly after US and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets, with deliveries starting in early March.

If confirmed, it would mark the first instance of direct Russian military support to Iran since the conflict began.

Moscow is already believed to provide Tehran with intelligence and satellite data. The Kremlin has declined to confirm reports of drone deliveries, citing a lack of verification.

Analysts say Iran is not seeking additional drones, but more advanced systems. Russia, meanwhile, produces drones based on Iranian models, which it has modified to improve efficiency.

Israel has also targeted logistics routes between the two countries.
