Israeli military reports missile launch from Yemen
The Israeli army has reported the first rocket attack from Yemen since the start of the war, a development that may signal further escalation. The launch came shortly after Yemen’s Iran-linked Houthis declared their readiness to intervene in the event of continued escalation.
It remains unclear what strategy they will adopt, but the move suggests the so-called ‘axis of resistance’ may become more active. The Houthis have previously demonstrated the capability to strike distant targets and disrupt key Red Sea shipping lanes, with potential global implications.
The conflict appears to be gradually spreading across the region, with another actor joining the fray after Lebanon and Iraq, raising tensions and increasing the risk of a wider confrontation.
