Kyiv secures UAE defence deal
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced an agreement with the United Arab Emirates on security and defence cooperation. The meeting took place with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with details still to be finalised by expert teams.
According to reports, the leaders also discussed broader economic cooperation as part of a forthcoming agreement between the two countries.
The talks also touched on the current security situation in the region, including military escalation and its impact on the global economy and maritime transport.
At the same time, Zelenskyy is continuing his diplomatic outreach in the Middle East. After visiting Saudi Arabia, where a defence agreement was signed, he also travelled to Qatar.
Ukraine’s foreign minister indicated the country is close to concluding several agreements aimed at countering, among other things, Iranian attacks.
