Iran confirms Guards naval chief’s death

Iran has officially confirmed the death of Alireza Tangsiri, commander of the Revolutionary Guards Navy, who died of serious injuries. The information was reported by state media, citing a statement from the Guards.

Tangsiri was a prominent figure in Iran’s military structure. The circumstances of his death are linked to an Israeli operation at the end of March.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz had earlier said that Israeli forces carried out a ‘precise and deadly operation’ in which Tangsiri was killed along with other senior officers.
