Kallas visits Kyiv, pledges continued European support

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas has arrived in Kyiv alongside several European foreign ministers to mark the fourth anniversary of the Bucha massacre, in a show of support for Ukraine and efforts to ensure accountability for war crimes.

Kallas said Europe would continue to stand by Ukraine. 'We will keep providing military, financial, energy, and humanitarian support,' she said, adding that such visits serve as a reminder of the country's resilience in the face of Russian aggression.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha described the presence of European leaders as proof that justice for the atrocities would be pursued.

Ukraine is commemorating the liberation of Bucha, where Kyiv says Russian troops killed more than 400 people. Moscow denies the allegations.

Kyiv hopes the visit will strengthen backing for the creation of a special tribunal to prosecute the crime of aggression, an initiative that has already gained support from several countries.
