US vice president to investigate fraud in Democrat states

US President Donald Trump said on Friday that Vice President JD Vance would focus on investigations in Democrat-controlled states in his new role as ‘fraud czar’.

‘His focus will be ‘EVERYWHERE,’ but primarily in those Blue States,’ Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social, singling out California, Illinois, Minnesota, Maine and New York. In Los Angeles, he added: ‘raids have already started.’

Trump signed an executive order last month establishing a national task force led by Vance. Its stated aim is to investigate alleged misuse of federal funds intended for social welfare programmes.
