London police arrest fourth suspect in attack on Jewish community
British police have arrested a fourth suspect over the burning of ambulances belonging to a Jewish community in London. The arrest was made at the courthouse where the case against three men already charged was being heard.
The incident took place on 23 March in Golders Green, where vehicles belonging to the Hatzolah Voluntary Service were parked outside a synagogue. No injuries were reported, but explosions caused damage in the surrounding area.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the incident as a shocking anti-Semitic act.
Prosecutors say four people were involved in the attack, and counter-terrorism police are investigating, although the case has not been classified as terrorism. An Iran-linked group has reportedly claimed responsibility, but this has not been confirmed by British authorities.
The three defendants already charged remain in custody.
The case comes amid an increase in attacks on Jewish targets in Britain since the start of the Gaza war.
