Zelenskyy announces closer security cooperation with Turkey
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced closer security cooperation with Turkey after meeting his counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul on Saturday.
‘This concerns, first of all, the areas in which we can support Turkey: expertise, technology and experience,’ he wrote on Telegram.
Erdogan told Zelenskyy that Turkey would continue to support negotiations between Ukraine and Russia to end the war, the Turkish presidential office said.
Zelenskyy said the two leaders discussed possible cooperation on joint gas infrastructure projects and the development of gas fields.
At the meeting in Istanbul, Erdogan said Turkey attached great importance to maritime security in the Black Sea. The security of energy supply was key, the presidential office added.
