UK seeks to attract AI company Anthropic

Tensions between the US and tech firm Anthropic open the door for Britain, which is trying to lure AI developer Claude to its territory. London is preparing a package of proposals, including expanding its operations in the country and the possibility of a dual-jurisdiction stock market listing.

The conflict arose after the US government branded Anthropic a security risk when the firm refused to make its chatbot available for military use. Although the court has temporarily suspended that decision, the dispute continues and the firm faces further legal challenges.

According to reports, the UK government sees the situation as an opportunity to strengthen its technology sector and acquire a major player in the field of artificial intelligence. Negotiations are expected to move forward during a planned visit by CEO Dario Amodei.
