Trump: US and Iran could strike a deal on Monday
The United States could reach an agreement with Iran on a peaceful settlement of the Middle East conflict as early as Monday US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News on Sunday.
"I think there's a good chance for that tomorrow, they're negotiating right now. If they don't come to an agreement, and quickly, I'm considering blowing the whole thing up and seizing the oil," the White House chief said, according to Fox News foreign correspondent Trey Yingst.
Trump said shortly before on Truth Social that unless Iran opens the Strait of Hormuz, the United States will attack Iranian infrastructure, particularly power plants and bridges, on Tuesday.
The US president had earlier announced that he would discuss the next course of action at a press conference.
