Iran designates navigation corridors in Strait of Hormuz

Iran announced on Wednesday that it has designated safe corridors for navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, following the announcement of a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran. Ships must use the routes in co-ordination with the Revolutionary Guards, Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization said. The Student News Network reported.

According to Iranian authorities, the safe entry route from the Sea of Oman runs north of Larak Island. The exit route from the Persian Gulf runs south of the island back to the Sea of Oman.
