The Israeli military said Ali Yusuf Harshi, a secretary to Hezbollah Secretary-General Naeem Qassim, was killed in the strike. Hezbollah has not confirmed his death.
The strike targeted a multi-storey building in a Beirut neighbourhood, which was destroyed. Israeli forces also said they hit around 10 weapons depots, rocket launch sites and militant command centres in southern Lebanon.
According to Reuters, confirmation of Harshi’s death would mark another setback for Hezbollah and its backer Iran.
