Melania Trump Denies Relationship With Epstein
Melania Trump has denied claims that she had any relationship with financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In a rare appearance at the White House, she called the allegations lies and a smear on her name.
She acknowledged that she and Epstein occasionally met at social events, which she said was common in New York. She stressed that they had never been friends and that she had no relationship with his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, adding that any contact had been limited to casual correspondence.
The Epstein case continues to pose a political problem for President Donald Trump, who says he broke off contact with Epstein at the start of the millennium and was unaware of his crimes. Records show that Trump flew on Epstein’s plane several times in the 1990s, which he has denied.
Melania Trump also called on Congress to give space to the victims of Epstein’s crimes and focus on hearing them out.
