Vance Expects Positive Iran Talks But Issues Warning

US Vice President JD Vance said before flying to Pakistan that he expected a positive outcome from talks with Iran, while warning Tehran against attempting to mislead Washington.

"We look forward to the negotiations. I think they will be positive," Vance told reporters.

He said the United States was prepared to be accommodating if Iran acted in good faith, but warned of a strong response otherwise.

"If the Iranians are willing to negotiate in good faith, we are certainly prepared to extend an open hand. If they try to mess with us, they will find that the negotiating team is not so forthcoming," he added.
