Saudi Pipeline Bypassing Hormuz Fully Operational
Saudi Arabia on Sunday restored the full capacity of oil flow through the East-West pipeline to about seven million barrels per day. The announcement came days after it said on Thursday that attacks had reduced oil production capacity by about 600,000 barrels per day and the pipeline’s throughput by about 700,000 barrels per day.
Reuters reported on Wednesday that Iran attacked the pipeline just hours after a ceasefire agreement with the US.
The pipeline is Saudi Arabia’s only route for oil exports if the Strait of Hormuz is closed.
