US–Iran Talks Could Resume Within Days, Trump Says

US President Donald Trump said talks between the US and Iran could resume in the next few days in Pakistan, although he has not set a specific date.

While the situation has escalated after the failure of the last round of talks, both sides appear to remain open to further dialogue.

Iran’s nuclear program remains a key sticking point. The US has proposed suspending it for up to 20 years, while also demanding the removal of enriched material and strict inspection mechanisms.

Tehran has rejected the proposal and offered a significantly shorter period of restrictions, around three to five years.

According to negotiating sources, despite the differences, there has been some movement behind the scenes. The two sides may thus be moving closer to a compromise that could become the basis for further formal negotiations.
