Trump: Pope Must Recognize Iran as Threat

US President Donald Trump said it was “very important” that Pope Leo XIV sees Iran as a threat to global security. He made the remarks in an interview with reporters outside the White House.

In doing so, he pointed to differing views between himself and the head of the Catholic Church, adding that the Pope has the right to express his views, but that he does not have to agree with them.

He said the Pope should better understand the realities of international politics and security risks.
