Ukrainian Drones Strike Druzhba Pipeline Facility in Russia

Ukrainian drones struck an oil pumping and storage facility in Russia's Samara region overnight. According to an official from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the target was a facility in the village of Prosvet, which forms part of the Druzhba pipeline supply chain.

The attack caused a fire and damaged five oil tanks, each with a capacity of approximately 20,000 cubic metres. The information came from a Ukrainian source and could not be independently verified.

The strike occurred as transit of oil through the Druzhba pipeline, which runs through Ukraine to Hungary and Slovakia, was expected to resume. Supplies had been interrupted after infrastructure was damaged in a Russian attack in January, according to Ukrainian sources.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said several days ago that the pipeline could be ready to operate again by the end of April, once repairs are completed.

The governor of the Samara region confirmed an attempted attack on an industrial facility, saying drones had landed in several locations, but did not specify the target or the extent of the damage.
