Three EU Countries Push to Suspend EU-Israel Trade Deal

Spain, Slovenia and Ireland have called on the European Union to open a discussion on the possible suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement. The proposal was put forward ahead of a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg by Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares.

According to the Times of Israel, this is not an immediate decision but an effort to open a political debate within the bloc.

The move comes amid rising tensions over Israel's conduct, which are playing out not only at the diplomatic level but also in the cultural sphere. Hundreds of artists, including musician Roger Waters and rapper Macklemore, have called for a boycott of Eurovision over Israel's participation in the international song competition.
