Israel Awards Trump Its Highest Civilian Honor

US President Donald Trump has been awarded the Israel Prize, the country’s highest civilian honor, during Independence Day celebrations in Jerusalem.

The award was given for his “special contribution to the Jewish people” and was announced in December by Education Minister Yoav Kish, the Times of Israel reported.

According to Israeli officials, Trump received the prize largely for his policies toward Israel during his presidential terms.

During the ceremony, speakers highlighted key actions including the 2020 Abraham Accords, his address to the Knesset and his long-standing relationship with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The formal presentation of the award will take place during a planned visit to Israel in the coming months. The gesture underscores the close political ties between Washington and Jerusalem.
