Kremlin: Putin to Meet Zelensky Only on Final Agreements

Russian President Vladimir Putin may meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky only to finalize agreements on the conflict, TASS reported, citing Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

“The main thing is the goal of this meeting. Why should they meet? Putin said he was ready to meet in Moscow at any time”, Peskov told Russian state television.

“The main thing is that there should be a reason for the meeting and, above all, that the meeting should be productive. And it can only be with the aim of finalizing agreements”, Peskov added.

He said such a meeting would require thorough preparation and “political will on the part of the Kyiv regime. And so far we do not see such political will”.

Peskov’s comments came after Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Ukraine had asked Turkey to host a meeting between the two leaders to revive stalled peace talks.
