Russia Says FSB Foiled Ukrainian-Linked Bomb Plot

Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) has announced it foiled a planned bomb attack targeting senior officials of Roskomnadzor, the country's telecommunications regulator.

According to the Interfax news agency, the group had prepared the attack using an explosive device planted in a vehicle. The FSB said the group's leader was shot dead during the raid after resisting arrest, and seven others were detained.

Searches of properties linked to the suspects reportedly uncovered connections to Ukrainian paramilitary units. The incident is said to have taken place on 18 April 2026.
