Kallas Warns of Weak Iran Deal Without Nuclear Experts

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas has warned that negotiations with Iran must include nuclear experts or risk producing a deal weaker than the original Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Narrowly focused talks without expert involvement could lead to ineffective outcomes that fail to ensure sufficient oversight of Iran's nuclear program, she said.

Kallas also warned that discussions should not be confined to nuclear issues alone. Broader security concerns must also be addressed, she argued, including Iran's missile programs, support for allied armed groups and its hybrid and cyber activities in Europe.

A comprehensive approach, she said, is crucial to regional stability. Without one, Iran could emerge as an even greater security threat than it already is.
