Timmy the Whale Reaches the North Sea but Remains Weak

The story of the giant whale nicknamed Timmy has taken a turn, but his fate remains uncertain. After spending weeks in shallow waters off the German coast, the whale has finally reached the North Sea.

The rescue operation, which also involved a private initiative, aimed to lure the animal back into deeper waters. The effort succeeded only after a complicated journey and several attempts.

Timmy was severely weakened, and remnants of fishing nets were found in his snout, suggesting possible injuries or difficulties feeding. Experts said it was too early to call the rescue a success.

They also noted that injured whales often return to shallow waters in search of refuge. The operation’s real success will only be confirmed if Timmy returns to the North Atlantic, recovers and resumes his natural migration.
