US Report: Iran Could Withstand Hormuz Blockade for Months

A secret US intelligence report suggests that Iran could withstand a US naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz for at least three to four months before facing more serious economic problems.

The Washington Post reported the assessment, citing four people familiar with the matter. The analysis was reportedly given to government officials this week.

The findings call into question US President Donald Trump’s optimistic statements about the effectiveness of pressure on Tehran. The report also said Iran had retained a significant share of its missile capabilities, including about 70% of its stockpile and 75% of its mobile launchers, despite US and Israeli attacks.

According to US officials, Iran has managed to rebuild most of its underground storage facilities, partially repair damaged weapons and even assemble some new missiles. Trump, however, has said Iran’s missiles are “mostly destroyed”.

Some analysts warn that the Iranian regime may be able to withstand the pressure for longer than expected because it is prepared to endure severe economic hardship.
