Zelensky Says Ukraine Hit Russian Oil Facility in Yaroslavl
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukrainian forces had struck a Russian oil facility in Yaroslavl, more than 700 km from the border. He said the attack was a response to continuing Russian strikes on Ukrainian towns and villages.
Russia’s Defense Ministry, meanwhile, said it had downed 264 Ukrainian drones overnight. The strikes were also reported to have hit Moscow and the Perm region in the Urals. Thirteen airports in southern Russia were temporarily closed after the attacks, and a drone also damaged an air traffic control administration building in Rostov-on-Don.
Moscow also claimed that Ukraine had attacked Russian troops and civilian targets in the border regions of Belgorod and Kursk with artillery and drones. The Russian military said it had responded with strikes on Ukrainian command posts, artillery positions and drone launch sites.
Kyiv, meanwhile, reported continued Russian attacks along the front line overnight. According to Zelensky, Russia carried out dozens of strikes and hundreds of drone attacks, which he said showed that the ceasefire was not really holding.
