White House Calls Out Mark Hamill over Trump Grave Image
The White House has sharply criticized actor Mark Hamill after an artificial intelligence-generated image depicting President Donald Trump in a shallow grave appeared on his verified Bluesky account. The image showed Trump beside a tombstone bearing the years "Donald J. Trump 1946-2024" and the caption "If Only."
Hamill, best known for playing Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, subsequently wrote that he wished Trump had lived long enough to "should live long enough to witness his inevitable devastating loss in the midterms, be held accountable for his unprecedented corruption, impeached, convicted & humiliated for his countless crimes". He added: "Long enough to realize he'll be disgraced in the history books, forevermore".
The White House responded on X, calling Hamill "one sick individual" and arguing that such rhetoric contributes to a rise in violence. The administration cited several incidents linked to threats against Trump, stating that speeches of this kind had inspired attempts to assassinate the president.
