SiamAI Denies Helping Circumvent US Export Restrictions
Bangkok-based SiamAI has denied exporting artificial intelligence (AI) servers to China, saying in a statement that it complies with US rules governing both the export and re-export of technology.
The company was responding to allegations that it helped circumvent restrictions on the export of advanced chips made by US firms Super Micro Computer and Nvidia to China.
US prosecutors allege that at least $2.5bn worth of US AI technology may have been routed to China, with more than $500m destined for China between April and mid-May 2025.
The case comes as Thailand is emerging as a significant location for data centers. In recent years, companies including TikTok, Microsoft and Google have invested billions of dollars in the country.
