Plane Aborts Takeoff After Engine Fire in Denver

A Frontier Airlines Airbus A321 aborted takeoff at Denver International Airport on Friday night after a fire broke out in one of its engines and smoke appeared in the cabin. All 224 passengers and seven crew members were safely evacuated.

Airport firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. US media reported that at least one passenger suffered minor injuries. Reports that the aircraft may have struck a pedestrian on the runway have also drawn attention, though neither the airport nor the airline has provided further details on that person's condition.

Frontier Airlines said it is investigating the incident in cooperation with the airport and the relevant authorities.
