Trump Considers Moving US Troops from Germany to Poland

US President Donald Trump is considering relocating some American troops from Germany to Poland. The Pentagon is set to withdraw around 5,000 troops from Germany in the coming months following a deterioration in relations between Trump and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, according to TVP World.

Tensions between Washington and Berlin were sparked by Merz's remarks about the alleged "humiliation" of the United States during negotiations with Iran. Trump has since indicated he may withdraw additional troops from Europe, including from Italy and Spain.

Polish President Karol Nawrocki said Warsaw was ready to receive additional US troops and had the necessary infrastructure in place.

Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz described the partnership with the United States as the foundation of Polish security and stressed the importance of strengthening NATO's eastern flank.
