Zelensky Calls UAE President over Iran and Prisoners

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Monday, discussing the return of Ukrainian citizens from Russian captivity and the security situation following the outbreak of war in Iran.

Since the start of the conflict, Ukraine has offered the UAE and other countries in the region its expertise in countering drones. Kyiv and the UAE have also concluded a ten-year defense cooperation agreement.

"I was glad to hear that Ukrainian expertise is truly helping to build reliable protection for lives. We discussed continuing this work", Zelensky wrote on X.

Zelensky said he valued the reciprocal basis on which agreements between the two countries are implemented, and thanked the UAE for its support to Ukraine in the energy sector.
