Kyiv Resumes Drone Strikes on Russian Energy Infrastructure
Ukraine has resumed drone attacks on Russian energy infrastructure following the end of a three-day ceasefire. Russia’s defense ministry said it destroyed or intercepted 286 Ukrainian drones across several regions overnight.
Energy facilities were again among the main targets. In the Krasnodar region in southern Russia, drone debris fell near an industrial site in the village of Volna, close to the port of Taman. The area is a key hub for storing petroleum products and exporting them via the Black Sea. Regional authorities said a fire broke out.
Another strike targeted a gas processing plant in the Astrakhan region on the Caspian Sea, around 1,675 km from the Ukrainian border.
Governor Igor Babushkin said all drones had been shot down or neutralized, but debris sparked a fire at the facility. No casualties or injuries were reported.
Ukraine has repeatedly targeted Russian refineries, terminals and energy infrastructure in an effort to disrupt export revenues and military logistics. The latest attacks came two days after the end of a ceasefire proposed by US President Donald Trump as part of efforts to restart peace talks between Moscow and Kyiv.
