Ukrainian Drones Hit Large Russian Refinery
Ukrainian drones carried out another large-scale attack on targets in Russia overnight. According to the commander of the drone force, Robert Brovdi, they struck 23 military targets and facilities, including a large oil refinery in Ryazan, around 200 km from Moscow. The Ukrainian General Staff said a large fire broke out at the refinery following the strike.
Kyiv described the facility as one of the largest refineries in Russia, with a capacity to process around 17 million tonnes of crude oil a year.
The Ukrainian military also claims to have struck military targets near the Caspian Sea, including a missile launcher and a minesweeper at a base in Kaspiysk.
Moscow did not immediately comment on the extent of the damage. Drone strikes on Russian territory have increased significantly in recent months.
