Israel threatens Gaza with “powerful hurricane” – Hamas faces last chance

Israel has announced massive air strikes on the Gaza Strip, which Defense Minister Israel Katz described as a “powerful hurricane.”

He said this was the last warning to Hamas: if the organization did not release all hostages and surrender, the city and the area would be destroyed.

The announcement came as the Israeli army bombed Gaza and detonated old armored vehicles filled with explosives, destroying several residential neighborhoods.
Among the at least 40 Palestinians killed on Monday was journalist Osama Balousha, bringing the number of reporters killed in this war to over 250.

Hamas says it is considering a new US proposal for a ceasefire. According to the proposal, the group would have to release all 48 remaining hostages on the first day, in return for which negotiations on ending the war would begin. US President Donald Trump spoke of a “last chance.”
Israel also signaled that it would consider the proposal.

However, Hamas insists on releasing hostages only after a clear end to the war and the withdrawal of Israeli troops.

According to Palestinian authorities, more than 64,000 people have been killed since the conflict began in 2023.
