Father and children died in an accident on their way home from a party in an electric car; they burned to death in the car

A tragic traffic accident occurred in the German city of Schwerte on Sunday afternoon, killing three people. A father and his children were traveling home from a celebration in an electric car when they burned to death in the vehicle.

The Tesla electric car veered off the road while attempting to pass a line of cars, crashed into a tree, and caught fire. Writes Bild.

The 43-year-old driver and two nine-year-old children were trapped in the flames and did not survive. A third child, also nine years old, was able to escape from the vehicle before it was engulfed in flames.

He was injured and taken to hospital by helicopter. According to local media, the family was on their way back from a birthday party.

The investigation into the exact circumstances of the tragedy is ongoing. Witnesses reported hearing screams coming from the burning car, but despite efforts to extinguish the flames with a fire extinguisher, the occupants could not be saved.
